Well the Joomla team released another "stable" release of Joomla core, 1.0.13 called 'Sunglow'.
The problem, however, is that almost no one should upgrade to this!
This update breaks backwards compatability with earlier versions of Joomla, causing all your components and modules to break down. This is a security update, however it will require you to update every component you currently use, and those updates are not ready yet.
According to Joomlaopolis.com (Community Builder), there were some communication problems and security bugs were not being sent to the testers. This resulted, somehow, in an improper SVN release being shipped as a 'stable' release, and many many broken websites.
Component developers are now having to first make 'downgrade back to 1.0.12' patches before making upgrading patches... this is causing a big mess!!
And this is why I never, ever, upgrade any system right away. I wait until others do it first, and properly pave the way with bug hunting.
